Project Overview
AMPYR is developing the Swallow Tail Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) near the Bannaby substation in NSW, designed to store renewable energy for use during peak times.
The project has obtained SEARS in 2024 and seeking planning consent in 2025 and targeting construction to start in 2026.
AMPYR will continue engaging with neighbours, the wider community and local Aboriginal groups as the development progresses, to ensure a sensitive project design.
AMPYR will create lasting value and support for the local community by sharing the benefits generated by the Swallow Tail BESS and providing local employment and training opportunities. In November 2024, AMPYR announced $40,000 in funding for community groups in Bannaby, Taralga and surrounding areas through the Swallow Tail Battery Community Fund.
